1. Why did you choose to go back and/or wear your natural hair? How long have you been natural?
The reason why I went back to my natural hair was due to a medical condition. But in all I was tired of getting perms and I remembered how my natural hair was before I went down that road. It was easy for me but I wanted to try up to date styles that your hair had to be permed etc. I regret that I started perming my hair because being natural is so easy. I been natural for three years now and I am loving my natural hair again. I won”t go back to the perm again at all.
2. Did you BC or were you a long or short term transitioner?
I never BC. As I went along I was cutting my hair until the perm was out. I didn’t feel comfortable doing a BC so I went that road. I was a short term, I didn’t have a perm for about a year before I went natural so that was easy for me along with cutting my hair along the way.
3. How did your friends and family react to your decision to rock your natural kinks, coils and curls?
My family didn’t say to much and my husband was very supportive. He likes my hair like this more then when it was permed.
4. What is your hair regimen? What are your staple hair products?
My hair regimen in the morning: I wet my hair with water and apply Shea Moisture Raw Restorative Leave in Conditioner before bed I use my spray I put together. Water, coconut oil with castor oil. I co wash my hair twice a week with suave almond . Every two weeks I do a hair mask treatment and once a month a scalp treatment, a deep condition every two weeks.
5. What advice would you give someone who is considering growing their natural hair?
Don’t be afraid to grow your natural hair. It’s a great feeling to have your natural. You don’t have to cut all of your hair like people think you need to. Yes there is pro and cons like everything but yet knowing that you can wash your hair and go and don’t have to do nothing really to your hair is a great feeling.
6. Anything else you would like to add?
Regardless if you are natural or not we are all beautifully made.
